My LOVE for Newborn Photography

How does one accidentally get herself into newborn photography? Well, you start with a passion for photography and then give birth to a beautiful baby boy whom I couldn’t stop taking photos of. My love for capturing every moment of my son’s life caught the attention of many of my Facebook followers.  I listened….Fast forward 5 years and a surprise addition of twin girls to the family, and I’m immersed in Newborn Photography. I live and breathe it! Located in downtown Buffalo with a beautiful studio, I have made my dreams come true.

On all my Newborn sessions, I start with the “greatest love of all”, the love a mother has for her baby. Lots of moms come to me and tell me that there is no way they are getting their photos taken shortly after having baby. I reassure moms that the photos I take are at the best and most flattering angles. I make sure that moms look fabulous! I also tell them that those photos can just be something for herself, it serves as a memory of how tiny her baby once was. Of course, moms end up LOVING these the most and they are thankful they had them done!

I don’t forget about the dads of course! I love seeing how tiny new babies look in dad’s arms.

Next, I capture the couple who have now become new parents. Their lives have changed forever. Parenthood is unlike anything else in the world. The hardest and most rewarding job on the planet. I love being part of so many couples’ journeys. I have made friends from clients. Some still call for “baby whispering” advice.

Once all the parent shots are done, it is time to focus on the new baby! I tell parents that this is the time for them to relax, have a cup of coffee and enjoy! I handle everything from here on in. I sooth, and pose baby with the help of my assistant.

I can’t imagine a “job” that allows me to be so creative. I get to take a fleeting moment and freeze it for parents. As a mom, I know how quickly time flies and how easy it is to forget how little our children once were. The innocence, the beauty and love that we feel for our children is captured though memories. I hope that when my clients look back at these photos, they can relive those memories.
